Dalila sighed and fiddled with the material of her hood "I grew up with it. Everybody seems to know everything about everybody here.... strange" shrugging Shaquina fiddled the material of her hood.

"Is that always such a bad thing?" Ruella asked, still half caught-up by her memories.

"It is in my line of work" Shaquina said with a smirk, knowing that the woman had probably figured it out by now. As she said this a large slim black dog came and sat beside her leaning in close to Shaquina his head coming up past her hip. Shaquina paid his no notice, in fact looked as if she hadn't seen him and continued to look toward Ruella. The dog growled softly in his throat and looked quite a threatening figure, gently Shaquina placed a hand on his head and he quietened happy that he had been acknowledged.

Ruella glanced briefly at the dog, thoughtful. "Well you can try and stay out of it... but I'm not sure how successful it will be. I've heard there are some dark corners where strangers live... but they could just be rumours." She smiled slightly.

Dalila grinned and laughed softly but didn't say anything. Motioning toward the dog that had sat down with a plop in front of Shaquina she patted its head slightly "This be Kip" the name seemed rather tame for such a wild looking animal. "I'm sure he's pleased to meet you"

"And I him," Ruella replied gravely, offering a steady hand to be sniffed. There was nothing threatening in the gesture, and she didn't think the dog would attack her for it

Shaquina smiled and pushed the back of the dogs head slightly. The Dog walked up to the offered hand and sniffed it, his tail giving a wag. Nudging her hand with his nose he then began to walk around the clearing lazily, There was a thick leather collar around his neck that hung loosely.
"You will have to excuse his rudeness. He is usually quite the gentleman. He does seem to like you however...its just he isn't one for the socializing" Shaquina spoke sadly, putting on a slightly posh voice all traces of her common accent vanishing. She grinned.

Ruella smiled, a little surprised by the girl's accent. "Well it is understandable.... I'm sure there are many more apetizing smells around here for him than me... Well, I'd hope so actually."

"He's gentle as a lamb really. Unless you make him made, or me" Dalila smiled enjoying herself "A woman has to have protection in a world such as this" Scratching the dog on his head as he ambled passed she looked back to Ruella "Do you have a dog?" she asked genuinely curious, most people reacted badly to Kip

Ruella gave a half-smile. "No dog.... a kitten yes, or rather, she owns me I think." She smiled fully, thinking of little Trinket, still up in her rooms in the palace. "I'm not sure what she'd think of Master Kip."

Shaquina smiled sadly "I'm afraid he would probably eat her, i cant have cats... he tends to think of them as fluffy rabbits, but he usually realizes the difference... and stops... usually" Shaquina winced slightly "He's getting better"

Ruella's smile weakened. "Well perhaps it's best they don't meet just yet," she suggested, trying not to picture Kip tearing her small grey kitten to pieces.

Shaquina smiled slightly "Probly for the best, you wouldn't know it from the look of him but he's just a pup. Near 8 months old"

"That's a pup?" Ruella turned to look at the dog again. She couldn't believe that... not unless the animal was not completely 'dog'

Shaquina laughed softly at her re-action. "He's fully grown, might fill out a but more. But height wise he's as big as he's getting"
